Only 5 % in INDIA speak English. Only 30 to 40 % in INDIA knows Hindi.
85 % to 90 % of people in INDIA speak there own STATE LANGAUGES.

We need to CATER to these people for any ACT to be effective in INDIA. This should happen in INDIA. GOI needs to think about this for it’s future.

Ref: Request for immediate translation of NRTI Act 2005 into regional languages for effective implementation of the act and to make citizen friendly all around INDIA. This has not happened sofar in INDIA. Government of INDIA needs to act now.

STATES of INDIA are separated on the basis of LANGUAGE, we need to recognize this and get this done immediately. There are 18 to 20 official languages.

If RTI Act 2005 to be properly and effectively implemented in INDIA we all need to work on LOCALIZATION of LANGUAGES. This has not happened in INDIA. eGovernance department is far behind on this even though Govt. of INDIA has spent so much money on this issue.

According to Information Technology Secretary Brijesh Kumar, “In order to push PC penetration beyond the urbane limits, there is a strong need to make the applications and content available to users in their native language. From December, users will have an option to use the computer not just in English but also in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, especially since the software will come free of cost.”

Therefore, eGovINDIA and INDIA RTI requests on immediate translation of RTI legislation into regional languages. IT HAS STILL NOT BEEN DONE BY GOVERNMENT OF INDIA.
